Introduction and Development on Steel Structure

In recent decades, the former Soviet Union, the USA and Japan had always been the top three on steel output around the world. In recent years, with the implementation of China's reform and opening-up policy, our country had made rapid progress. During this period, China's steel production became the first in the world.

Light steel structure buildings have been widely used in factories, warehouses, stadiums, exhibition halls, supermarkets and other buildings in some developed countries. Light steel makes color plate as roof and wall, make thin-walled steel as purling and ring beam, and make weld "H"-shaped cross section as shot and beam, with bolted or welded splice of the door frame as the main structure, together with parts, fasteners, doors and windows.

Giant steel structure is a new system as high-rise building, which is designed to meet special features or comprehensive functions. It has good flexibility and potential efficiency, such as Japan’s NEC complex which is a giant space truss system with a strong anti-push rigidity. Another example is a new building built commercial banks in Frankfurt, Germany in 1997 which is the highest building in Europe. HSBC also belongs to a giant steel structure building.

Large span steel structure engineering is most used for versatile venues, convention, exhibition center Expo, terminal, hangars and so on. The earliest largest flat truss span is in California Coliseum, Los Angeles. The international community as well as China is using a popular wavy surface, the intersection of the tree as well as direct support JOINTS stereo truss system, looking majestic and beautiful. China Shenzhen Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport are all typical examples.
