Steel structure is with smaller components, lighter weight, easy to be transported and installed, easy to be assemed and disassemed. It is suitable to be used for large span, high altitude, carrying heavy structures.
1. Steel is with uniform materials, stable quality, high reliability; Compared with masonry and concrete, steel has higher intensity, so the smaller the ratio of the density and strength, the lighter the structure is when it withstands the same load. For example, when the span and load is same, steel roof weighs only 1/3-1/4 of reinforced concrete roof, cold-formed steel roof trusses is even close to 1/10 which can provide a convenient transportation and lifting. Because steel component is often relatively soft, so stability is quite conspicuous, and it should be given more attention.
2. Light steel structure is with high strength, ductility and toughness, shock resistance and vibration is good; Compared with masonry and concrete, steel belongs to a single material, due to the production process and strict quality control, the organization structure is more uniform. Generally, in normal use, it has better ductility, and can be turned into plastic rational.
3. Steel is with high degree of industrialization, factories manufacturing, great installation, high precision, short manufacturing cycle, high production efficiency and high construction speed.
4. Steel structure is with anti-seismic property.
5. Poor corrosion resistance and fire resistance.
